Description

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) intends to publish a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for administrative supplements to the NCI Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Institutional Research Training Grant (T32) and the Paul Calabresi Career Development Award for Clinical Oncology (K12) as part of the Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) Program. This FOA solicits applications from Principal Investigators of NCI-supported T32 and K12 grants that will support eligible and qualified candidates from the underrepresented populations in addition to the candidates supported by the parent grants. This is a conversion of the previous Guidelines for the Supplements to the NCI Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award Institutional Research Training Grant (T32s) and Guidelines for the Supplements to the Paul Calabresi Career Development Award for Clinical Oncology (K12s). The overall goals are to promote diversity in the cancer research workforce by increasing participation from underrepresented students and scientists in NCI-funded institutional training and career development grants. The participants will benefit from institutional training programs as well as the resources provided by the CURE program. This Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects. The FOA is expected to be published in the winter of 2015 with an expected application due date in the spring of 2016. This FOA will utilize the T32 and K12 activity codes. Details of the planned FOA are provided below.
