About GrantUnlock
GrantUnlock is a free, independent directory of current federal opportunities from the official Grants.gov bulk extract. Our goal is to make it easier to discover programs before verifying them on the responsible government website.
Why We Built This
Government grants represent billions of dollars in funding available to American businesses and organizations each year. But finding these opportunities is unnecessarily difficult. Federal grants are scattered across Grants.gov, SAM.gov, SBIR.gov, and dozens of state agency websites — each with different formats, search interfaces, and update schedules.
GrantUnlock normalizes the official Grants.gov bulk opportunity extract into a consistent format and makes it searchable by category, agency, state relevance, funding amount, and deadline.
Our Data Sources
Current opportunity listings come from Grants.gov. The following official datasets may be retained locally as reference or enrichment material, but they are not presented as separate current grant listings:
- Grants.gov — Official bulk extract of federal grant opportunities
- SAM.gov — Assistance Listings reference used for limited eligibility enrichment
How We Keep Data Fresh
Our data pipeline checks the Grants.gov XML extract daily, validates dates and volumes in staging, and automatically marks expired grants. A failed or incomplete import is not published. Eligibility enrichment may use a locally retained SAM.gov Assistance Listings snapshot and should always be verified on the official opportunity page.
Important Disclaimer
GrantUnlock is an independent project and is not affiliated with any government agency. While we strive for accuracy, grant information can change without notice. Always verify eligibility requirements, deadlines, and application procedures on the official program website before applying. We link directly to the official Grants.gov listing for every grant.
