Lupus Education and Awareness Program (LEAP)

The purpose of the Lupus Education and Awareness Program (LEAP) is to reduce lupus-related health disparities among racial and ethnic minority populations disproportionately affected by this disease by conducting a national lupus education initiative that includes the general public, health professionals and student trainees in targeted communities, schools and health care systems and practices. The LEAP program will focus on developing public-private and community partnerships, evaluate current minority clinical trial education and participation programs, and development of a research plan for creating new clinical trial education models in lupus. LEAP will target individuals, patients, communities, and practicing professionals in geographic areas and populations where lupus is more prevalent.
