Description

The purpose of the Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief Appropriations Act Supplemental - National Emergency Grants is to provide states with time-limited funding assistance for the creation of disaster relief employment for workers in areas affected by Hurricane Sandy, and declared eligible for public assistance, as defined by the Stafford Act administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)

Types of Assistance: PROJECT GRANTS (DISCRETIONARY)

Eligible Applicants

Entities that are eligible to receive a Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief Appropriations Act Supplemental - National Emergency Grant are the designated state Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program grantee agencies in states that have been affected by Hurricane Sandy and have received a public assistance declaration from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for Hurricane Sandy. Funds can be used to create temporary disaster employment to assist with clean up and humanitarian activities as well as to provide employment services (including some supportive services) to eligible participants.
