Description
As written in the Relief Appropriations Act of 2013, this program will fund disaster response and recovery, and other expenses directly related to Hurricane Sandy, which are in the FEMA-declared major disaster states, relevant to the following: Costs of renovating, repairing, or rebuilding health care facilities, child care facilities, or other social services facilities; and Supporting the repair or rebuilding of non-Federal biomedical or behavioral research facilities.

Eligible Applicants
Applicants will be required to attest (at time of application) that funds requested will not be used for costs that are reimbursed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, under a contract for insurance, or by self-insurance. Terms and Conditions of the award will stipulate that the grantee must reimburse HHS for any costs that are subsequently covered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, under a contract for insurance, or by self-insurance.
