Description

The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) is the component of the U.S. Department of Justice responsible for advancing the practice of community policing and the Administrations priority of Making America Safe Again by supporting the nations state, local, territorial and Tribal law enforcement agencies through information and grant resources. This is a notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) for the FY 26 Tribal Resources Grant Program Technical Assistance (TRGP-TA) - Invitational program. This opportunity seeks to fund a Village Public Safety Officer training academy and continue funding for the Tribal Community Response Plans (TCRP). TRGP-TA funds are used to develop the capacity of law enforcement to implement community policing through common sense policing strategies, which is a priority of this Administration. Through the TRGP-TA program, the Department of Justice supports this priority by providing information on promising and effective practices, developing and test innovative strategies, and supporting new, creative approaches to preventing crime to address Administration priority areas.
