Description
The purpose of this program is to address legislative requirements, as stated in section 319F(d) of the Public Health Service (PHS) Act (42 USC � 247d-6(d), as part of a plan to improve the nation�s public health and medical preparedness and response capabilities for emergencies, whether deliberate, accidental, or natural. Accredited schools of public health will collaborate, develop and deliver core competency-based training and education that respond to the public health preparedness and response needs of state, local and tribal public health authorities, and emphasize essential public health security capabilities. The intent of this program is to meet the preparedness and response training and educational needs of the U.S. public health workforce by providing assistance to U.S. states, localities and tribal public health authorities within defined service areas.
